Ambrosia Maple Cheese Board with Handle
This handcrafted Ambrosia Maple charcuterie board features a beautifully shaped asymmetrical handle as well as an asymmetrically shaped body. Like all of our boards, this goose necked babe can be used as both a charcuterie platter for impressive meats and hard to pronounce cheeses, as well as a cutting board for all of your chopping needs.
**I have two ambrosia boards available and both are pictured above. If you would prefer one over the other, please contact me and let me know! If it has not sold yet, I will send you whichever one you've requested.
This beauty of a board is about 21.25" x 9.25" x 3/4"
This board is as delightfully smooth to the touch as they come. Perhaps smoother than the very icon of smooth itself. Yes, I am, in fact, referring to a baby's bottom. But I'll let you be the judge of that.
This sweet babe has been seasoned with a food safe cutting board oil and has been waxed with a food grade cutting board wax to help protect the surface and repel water. While these finishes help to condition the wood and protect it's rich color and smooth texture, they are not forever and the board will need additional oil application throughout the year as it loses it's sheen and begins to fade with use and washing. We will provided a care kit with every charcuterie and/or cutting board order to get you started.
This board has been oiled with a food safe cutting board oil and waxed with a food safe cutting board wax for extra durability.
To clean your board, simply wash with gentle dish soap and rinse with warm water. Wipe excess water away and let it hang dry before storing.
You may want to oil your board when you see that it's started to look a bit dry from excess washing. We have provided a small bottle of Walrus Oil in your care kit to get you started. To restore your board to it's original luster, simply pour a few drops of this oil onto your board, rub it in and let it sit for 20 minutes before buffing it out with a clean dry rag. You will notice that some spots on the wood will soak up the oil faster than others. Give those spots a little extra love and rub a bit more oil into those thirsty fibers.
To help restore your board's smooth texture, use the 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper we provided in your care kit to rub the Walrus Oil into the wood. Pour a couple of drops of the walrus oil onto your board and use the sandpaper to work the oil into the grain by rubbing it back and forth over all surfaces of the board IN THE DIRECTION OF THE GRAIN. Wait 20 minutes and then buff out the oil with a clean dry rag.
For the love of all things wood, do not put this product in the dishwasher. Also refrain from leaving your board in any water to "soak" the way we all did back in college to avoid washing the dishes while waiting for our food comas to subside. The wood gods are watching.
